Factions

A Faction is an independent state/organization in From the Depths. Each faction is defined by its ability to harvest resources, produce fleets, and engage in Diplomacy. Each World has its own series of factions, with the general objective of each campaign being to conquer or make peace with every faction.

Ashes of the Empire

Ashes of the Empire is a "prequel" to the overall Neter campaign, taking place at the outset of the civil war between the Steel Empire, the White Flayers, and the Lightning Hoods. The Gray Talons and Scarlet Dawn are not involved, and the Deepwater Guard is replaced by the more thematic Dustwind Gangs.
